Transaction Procedures Welcome to BSIP 101 Transaction Procedures Extending Inventory Instructor: Stephen Wright DPI Technical Consultant

Initial setup MUST be completed before material can be entered into inventory for your plant. Initial setup completed? Yes Continue with this tutorial. No/Unsure ; go to Tutorial 101 – Initial Setup

Purpose: To extend materials into inventory. Note: This allows items to be stocked and assigned to work orders.

One transaction is required to complete this procedure: ZMM01Z Let’s get started -

Your screen should look similar to the example at the right. From the SAP R/3 Easy Access screen box type ZMM01Z or from your favorites menu, select transaction ZMM01Z – Extend Material for Plant. Your screen should look similar to the example at the right.

Create Material (Initial Screen) A new window opens: Create Material (Initial Screen) Input: Material - Material number of item to stock. (Ex: For training purposes we selected FQA002556) Copy from… - Repeat the material number used above. Click the Continue icon or press <Enter> to progress.

If you enter a invalid DOT # the DOT will turn red and the message; will appear at the bottom of the Create Material (Initial Screen). To correct; recheck the DOT # entered, make necessary corrections and Press <Enter> or click Continue Icon to progress

Organizational Levels A new window opens: Organizational Levels Tip: The Organizational Levels window should contain your plant data; if not return to the initial setup tutorial and complete initial setup for ZMM01Z. Otherwise press <Enter> or click the Continue icon

Create Material {#########} A new window opens: Create Material {#########} Tip: The DOT # will be displayed in the Material field and to the right a description of the item. Click on the Drop-down menu icon

From the drop-down menu choose: MRP 2 Tip: This will bring the MRP 2 tab to the forefront. Enter the Storage Location for the Inventory.

From the drop-down menu choose: Plant data / stor. 1 Tip: This will bring the Plant data / stor. 1 tab to the forefront. Enter the Storage Bin for the Inventory. Tip: This is beneficial when having to do inventory counts at the fiscal year end. Click the Save icon to record changes.

The system will return to the SAP Easy Access screen and a message in the status bar will state that the material has been created. Tip: If it was already included on a PO in BSIP, delete that line and add a new line for the item.
