Four Main Parts of Wall Framing Top Plate Double Top Plate Bottom Plate Wall Studs

Laying Out the Wall Section Cut top and bottom plate to length. Temporarily nail together the top and bottom plates. Mark wall stud location on plates. Separate the top and bottom plates.

Adding the Wall Studs Cut all wall studs to required length. Place the wall studs between the plates on their pre-marked locations. Nail the top and bottom plates to the studs by driving nails through the plates and into the end of each stud. Add all window and door framing members.
