NEC Voice Security Recorder The Dterm VSR can connect at the desktop or in the back room. Please contact NEC for more information if a backroom connection is desired. In a simple desktop installation, it can be programmed to save calls on the local PC OR on a network drive. If on a network drive, a local buffer location is created to prevent streaming calls over the network.

Voice Security Recorder For Recording & Storing conversations on a local or network PC Consists of an in-line box, USB cable and software VSR The Dterm VSR can connect at the desktop or in the back room. Please contact NEC for more information if a backroom connection is desired. In a simple desktop installation, it can be programmed to save calls on the local PC OR on a network drive. If on a network drive, a local buffer location is created to prevent streaming calls over the network.

Voice Security Recorder Caller ID as part of Call Record Search by: Agent PC Log-in ID Time/Date Caller ID, Number Dialed Key-words in notes Optional Post-Call Screen Pop reminds agent to enter important notes, transaction number etc and if desired manage archive real-time (note: ability to erase call can be removed on per seat basis) The Dterm VSR offers high-end functionality at a price customers are willing to pay. This includes extracting the Caller ID or number dialed and making it a part of the call record. This will assist the user/supervisor in finding the call at a later date. The software can be set to also alert the user after the call to add notes about the call, mark it as important and save or delete the call. The ability to delete the call can be removed on a per user basis.

Voice Security Recorder Playback Tab One-touch email One-touch export to standard .wav file Simple Search The playback tab allows the user to list and play recorded conversations. The playback tab shows a graphical representation of the volume level of the call with a cursor that indicates the current position of playback. The cursor can be dragged forwards or backwards to allow rapid selection of the appropriate section to playback. The user can also search for calls in their own or another archive by Caller ID, number dialed or notes taken about the call. Additionally, user can choose to email the conversation as a compressed or extracted wav file, or select to save the converted file anywhere on their PC or network.

Voice Security Recorder Record Tab The Record tab allows the user to view recording levels and to control the recording. The ‘Oscilloscope’ shows the levels on the line separately (Microphone shows the user’s level and Speaker shows the distant party level.) Manual start, stop & pause buttons control the recording status. Additional features include the ability to mark the call as important or take a snapshot of the current call for immediate playback, while still recording the live call.

Voice Security Recorder Options Tab Automatically record every call Record format (determines total recording time available) Call Selection- every call is recorded from the beginning, this allows the user to determine calls of less than this threshold will NOT be saved Prompt for Info at Start- This setting has the VSR application pop forward at the start of every call Prompt for info at the END- this setting provides the screen pop shown previously to pop on the user’s desktop at the end of each call Record levels can be adjusted for better quality, the local or remote signal can be increased or decreased as needed. 100% = full signal.

Voice Security Recorder File Management Tab Calls can be stored anywhere on the local PC or Network If storing on a Network drive location it is recommended that a local buffer location be created. This prevents calls streaming over the network as well as prevents network problems from ‘stopping’ a recording. Calls remain in the buffer location until the network is ready, then are transferred with no intervention by the user. The Dterm VSR allows the user to automatically delete non-important calls when the allocated disk space becomes used or when conversations are over a certain number of days old. Conversations are permanently stored by pressing the ‘!’ (important) button during recording or playback.

Custom Configuration Settings to Meet the needs of every user: This program is hidden upon installation under C:\Program Files\NEC\Recorder Has many settings to restrict the user as well as customize the s/w if needed. The use of this program as well as the settings can be password protected. The setting for Password Prevents user from accessing local settings- eliminates both the Option Tab and File Management tab on the user interface. This ensures the user does not change settings once established. Other settings are described as well.
