Hand a copy of the matrix to each student and have them staple, tape or glue it into their planners. *Let students know that planners are a requirement to bring to class this year. Determine as a grade level how you would like to use planners. Planners are also addressed in the responsibility in the classroom lesson plan.

So, what do students get out of this? Positive learning environment Good communication with your teachers and other adults in the school The chance to shine and be recognized Talon Tickets

Talon Tickets 101 Sometimes, when a staff member finds a student meeting expectations, he/she will receive a Talon Ticket. (We suggest not asking for them.) Students will write their names on the Talon Tickets they receive, store them in a safe location such as a pencil pouch and listen for opportunities to use them: Prize drawings – in the classroom and for the whole school School store – located in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the last 15 minutes of lunch Trading with teachers for cool things like free time Spending them on grade-level activities

What about the people who don’t choose wisely? Staff members will complete a Minor Incident Report when a student does not meet an expectation. Any staff member can complete an MIR, and all MIRs for a student go together on one document.
