Charles Borromeo Archbishop of Milan from 1560 to 1584 Took steps to implement the reforms ordered by the Council of Trent. Charles took decisive steps to implement the reforms ordered by the council, such as building a new school for the education or priests.

Teresa de avila Teresa de Avila was a Spanish nun and a Catholic Church saint. She reformed the Carmelite order, a very spiritual influence for women, and an inspiration to people living in the Reformation time period. She became a nun at age 20 Born in 1515 and died in 1582

Francis of sales Birth - France, 1567 French Roman Catholic leader and preacher he worked to win back the district of Savoy, in France, from Calvinism The -Person that made him be mystic and religious was a woman that he saw in his window named Jane De Chantel, he followed her and he convinced him to be religious/ a monk. Death- France, December 28, 1622

What Happened? The Catholic Reformation started with a monk trying to change the church within. the Catholic Church's series of reforms in response to the spread of Protestantism in the mid-1500s to the early 1600s. Francis de sales wanted to regain the district of savoy, which a large percentage was turned into Calvinism. The catholic reformation impacted the protestant reformation by limiting the extent to which things reforming and the extent to which Protestants could influence things in a non- Catholic direction Renaissance papacy, Catholic saints emerged, calling Catholics to repentance and modeling for them the life of sanctity the Catholic/Counter Reformation assisted the Church in regaining much of what was lost by the Reformation's initial successes

Who was involved? Charles Borromeo, Francis of Sales, and Teresa de Aliva all were involved with the Catholic Reformers. Charles Borromeo took steps to implement the reforms by building a school for education for priests. Francis de Sales worked to win back the district of Salvoy from the Calvinists. Teresa de Aliva reformed the Carmelite order.

How does this event show religious disunity in Europe? This shows religious disunity in this all because Francis of Sales tried converting the distract of savoy and had successfully done so, from Calvinism, and made religious for women.
