Any district or school staff member that may have a role in assigning accessibility features or accommodations for eligible students for the PARCC field test. Any district or school staff member that may have a role in registering students who are eligible for accessibility features and accommodations, selecting and assigning accessibility features and accommodations in PARCC PearsonAccess. Purpose of the presentation? To review the types of accessibility features and accommodations listed by administration, content area, and grade that are available for the field test. Student Registration Details Accommodations are assigned on the student registration record 11

Student Registration Details Select the student requiring an accessibility feature or accommodation from the list of registered students. 12

Student Registration Details Go to the Assigned Tests tab to locate the test that will be assigned an accessibility feature or accommodation. Then select the test from the list of registered tests. 13

Read-Aloud Accessibility Feature for Mathematics or Accommodation for ELA/Literacy Assessments A separate test session must be created for a read-aloud session. You may add multiple students to the session, as long as they are all receiving the same read- aloud accommodation. These students will all receive the same test form. To assign the read-aloud accommodation, select Yes from the drop down for Read Aloud by Test Examiner during the create new session step. If the drop down is unavailable (grayed out) then a read-aloud accommodation is not valid for the test to be administered. Creating a Session for a Read-Aloud Administration 18

Proctor Authorization Ticket For Read-Aloud online sessions, a test examiner will need to print a Proctor Authorization ticket to access the text examiner copy of the test. The Proctor Authorization Ticket will include a user name and password for the test examiner to launch the test for the purpose of reading the test information to the student to provide the read-aloud accommodation. The text examiners test will not be scored. Test examiners should not create students or use live student login information for the purpose of reading the test aloud. 19

Accessibility Features and Accommodations Available by Test Form Only 20 Accessibility Features or Accommodation Form Assessment Component, Content Area and Grades available Answer Masking EOY Only ELA: Grades 3, 5, 8, 11 Math: Grades 4, 7, Algebra I, and Geometry Background/Font Color (Color Contrast) PBA and EOY ELA: Grades 3, 5, 8, 11 Math: Grades 4, 7, Algebra I, and Geometry *There are 5 options available; refer to the PARCC Accessibility Features and Accommodations Manual for color options. Text-to-Speech for the Mathematics Assessments PBA/EOY Grades 4, 7 Algebra I Text-to-Speech for the ELA/Literacy Assessments including items, response options, and passages PBA/EOY ELA: Grades 5, 8, 11

Accommodations Other than Read-Aloud A separate test session must be created for each test subject where an accommodation applies. You may add multiple students to the session, as long as they are all receiving the same accommodation. To assign an accommodated form, select the appropriate Form Group Type from the dropdown during the Create New Session activity. Large Print Accommodation 22 Ordering Large Print materials There are two ways to order materials for a Large Print Accommodation. 1.During test registration (SDU File upload or student registration) NOTE: The Large Print accommodation and paper test format should be selected. This must be complete by: January 21, 2014 for PBA February 28, 2014 for EOY 2.Order via Additional Orders in PearsonAccess Each Large Print Accommodation kit includes: One Large Print test booklet One regular print response document for transcription (Consumable test booklet for grade 3, scannable answer document for grades 4 – HS)
