Alumni Entrepreneur Stories

The “P” of P.E.E! Go to online sources such as The Idea Challenge Toolkit and the Chapter Campaign Guide The “P” of P.E.E! The first step will be to begin brainstorming ideas of activities that might be feasible.

Create your team action plan! Next… Create your team action plan! Use the DECA Week GEW action plan template available online Word-process

Considerations for your action plan include: Who? What? When? Why? How? Next, select a project manager and outline the steps to be done in your action plan. Be specific.

Who? This is where you outline who is responsible for what. You will likely have a project manager & subgroups with team leaders. Delegate specifically who is doing what, within each group.

What? What are you trying to accomplish and what resources do you need to make it happen? What will your activity be and what resources (time, money, equipment, man power, etc) will you need to pull it off?

When? When are things due? Establish your target completion dates. When is it? When are things due? Leave a margin for error. Don’t leave things until the last minute.

Why? Why are you doing this activity? Hint: All DECA week activities need to be promotional in nature & reach beyond the members in our classes. While you can have more than one objective (like raising funds), your primary objective has to be promotional in nature.

How? What are the specific steps you will take to execute this activity? Think DETAIL! Be sure all steps are documented.

Budget Approval While the goal is not necessarily to raise money, the desired outcome would also be to not lose money. Each class will be given a $50 budget, if needed, but whenever possible, seek donations. Donation letter is online. If you do need to request funds, you must complete the budget request portion of the action plan & get approval, IN ADVANCE, before purchasing anything. You will also be required to submit all receipts and complete a profit and loss at the end.

Let’s get down to business! Execute your plan! Let’s get down to business! Remember to take 6 digital photos! The 2nd “E” in P.E.E!

What needed improvement? Evaluate your plan! The Final “E” in P.E.E! What went well? What needed improvement?

Submit Group Performance Rating Form to the “In” box Submit all work! Submit revised action plan, final GEW work & 10 photos electronically (either via email or on a CD) Submit Group Performance Rating Form to the “In” box
