1 SOCIAL MEDIA TOOLKIT @natureforall @nature.for.all
@natureforall.global SOCIAL MEDIA TOOLKIT

2 #NatureForAll Social Media Toolkit
This toolkit is designed to help you be a part of the global on line voice for inspiring a love of nature. It covers: #NatureForAll’s Social Media Goals Who is Social Media for? What is #NatureForAll content? How to create #NatureForAll content?

3 #NatureForAll, Social Media and You
#NatureForAll is a global movement to inspire love of nature. It aims to build support and action for nature conservation among people from all walks of life by raising awareness and facilitating experiences and connections with the natural world. Just as social media is used to connect people with each other around the world everyday, it can also facilitate and encourage moments of connection between people and nature. As a #NatureForAll partner, you play a crucial role in this game-changing conservation movement. Your work is supporting the global effort to invite every person on the planet to fall in love with nature. Lets continue to find new and innovative ways to use social media (and other digital technologies) as a bridge rather than a barrier to nature!

4 Social Media Goals Through our Social Media channels, we aim to:
Goal #1: Provide value added to partners by broadening awareness of their events, projects, and campaigns to connect people to nature. Goal #2: Create and amplify a collective online voice for connecting with nature.

5 #NatureForAll’s Digital Audience
Each of our three social media channels targets a different portion of our growing audience. Facebook: #NatureForAll Community #NatureForAll’s Facebook account shares partner-focused content, general nature news, and current research. Twitter: Casual Audience and Community #NatureForAll uses Twitter to engage in conversation with #NatureForAll partners and casual nature lovers through news, action-oriented posts, and light-hearted content. Instagram: Uninitiated and Casual #NatureForAll uses Instagram to highlight the beauty of nature to encourage an audience with no interest or some interest in connecting with nature to get involved with #NatureForAll. TIP: Use analysis tools available on your social media channels for a general impression of your audience.

6 What is #NatureForAll Content?
Stories, articles, videos, photos, etc. that address #NatureForAll’s 7 strategies in a positive tone. Our 7 strategies: Bring children into nature at an early age. Find and share the fun in nature. Use urban gateways to nature. Embrace technology. Share cultural roots and ancestry in nature. Seek out diverse partnerships. Empower a new generation of leadership. Read the #NatureForAll Playbook to learn more about theses strategies Our tone: Positive language and words References community members and partner organizations. Engages followers with questions Bright, cheerful images and videos of happy, smiling people in nature

7 Creating Content The strategy is simple – identify and share content that relates to connecting people with nature, tag it #NatureForAll. Using the 7 strategies as a guide, posts can be about nature news, relevant events, current research, a funny animal video, challenges to individuals to do an activity outside, or simply enjoying the natural world. Content for the #NatureForAll Facebook and Twitter accounts is created about 2 weeks in advance and we try to advise partners ahead of time if they are going to be featured. The #NatureForAll social media team monitors the use of the hashtag daily and, as appropriate, shares and comments on posts that include it. Tip: Videos and images are very effective. Use Canva (free!), Pablo (free!), Photoshop, Powerpoint, and/or iMovie to create simple clips and graphics.
