Trip – Bodelwyddan Castle - recount Science: Everyday Materials TASC: Investigate the best materials to use to make a castle with. Distinguish between an object and the material from which it is made. Describe the simple physical properties of a variety of everyday materials. Compare and group together a variety of everyday materials on the basis of their simple physical properties. Identify and name a variety of everyday materials, including wood, plastic, glass, metal, water, and rock. Mathematics: Textbook 1A 10 minutes at the start of each Maths lesson dedicated to multiplication and division/times tables Chapter 1 Numbers to 10 (2 weeks) Number bonds (1 week) Addition within 10 (1 week) Subtraction within 10 (2 weeks) Chapter 2 Positions English: Daily Phonics lessons – Phase 3, 4 and 5. Non-fiction outcome: (2 weeks) Recount of the trip Fiction outcome: (3 weeks) Traditional Tales – Rapunzel – write own version Poetry outcome: (2 weeks) Repeated and patterned words – similes, rhyming Grammar (1 aspect covered each week) Capital letters, finger spaces, full stops, nouns, adjectives, verbs, suffix – ‘ed’ Art: Painting TASC: To mix paints to create a painting of a castle – Claude Monet I can create moods in art work using colour.
