MY PET PEEVES…

From Mr. Hislop: We want everyone to come.  If you are fast we want you if you are slow we want you.  Cross country is the first sport and the only sport in Jr. High that does not have any cuts.  Everyone makes the team.

Cross country starts on Monday after school.  Meet in the Jr. High Gym. The season lasts about 6 weeks. Come help us get more trophies for the school. Monday after School In the Jr. High Gym.

Assignment Due Monday: I want to know about you, so I can do a better job of helping you to learn. Please write an essay that answers the following questions:

Do you like English? Why or why not? What are your goals for this year? Please include overall goals as well as English goals. What is the best way that you learn/remember an English concept? If there is anything, within reason, that I can do to help you learn, what would that be? What has helped you in the past?

Please be sure to include all the elements of a 5 paragraph essay, as you have been taught before. This assignment will be used as a base line, to help me to know where you are at in your writing, and how much more practice you need to have throughout the school year.
