Project: “The LandLady” Essential Questions: What inferences can I draw based on evidence from the text? How do literary elements and devices work to impact texts? What steps does a good reader take in order to comprehend information that is both explicitly stated as well as implied? Project: “The LandLady” ELA, McLaughlin

TV Commercial for the Bed and Breakfast Two to five people allowed Each person must participate Everyone’s job is to be explained in the credits Your foreshadowing hints can be visual, or verbal (but there must be at least five) You must include all elements of the assignment (i.e.: special offer, details from the story, and contact information) This can be acted out, a powerpoint, powtoons, prezi, etc. We need to have visuals as well as dialogue.

This is what I will be looking for in your commercial: Any examples of foreshadowing ? How many of them are visual? How many are verbal (spoken)? Details from the story included in the commercial? Production quality?

After Reading, Write the Ending Cliffhangers can be frustrating, so now you have the chance to end the story. Starting with the line, “No, my dear,” she said. “Only you.” go on to finish the story. Try to use the same style of writing and speaking Dahl uses in the story. Remember two pages (typed) Writing Assignment After Reading, Write the Ending

Refer back to the story (on my weebly) You will submit your assignment in Google Classroom; all students must turn the assignment in, regardless if you worked in a group.
