2 Monday Instead of a Flashback today, please journal about someone you have lost. Remember and honor them by describing your favorite memory with them. What was their legacy in your life?

4 ”Block Party” – page 830 When you finish, complete the Literary Analysis Chart on page 836 on a piece of paper. Turn it in to THEHUB and take a ”Block Party” Worksheet. This is DUE TOMORROW if you don’t finish. Be sure you write COMPLETE SENTENCES.

5 Tuesday Copy the Agenda Have your “Block Party” Worksheet out. Flashback: What is a narrative? Bell Ringer: Rewrite this sentence correctly: There classroom said the teacher is down stairs

On the left – internal conflicts On the right – external conflicts Divide the paper in half, top and bottom. On the top – Waverly’s conflicts On the bottom - Waverly’s mom’s conflicts You will write down quotes that show conflict for either character.

9 Wednesday Copy the Agenda Flashback: What ”rules” about the game of life does Waverly learn? Bell Ringer: What are 3 types of external conflict?

11 What is a memoir? (take notes)

Answer the 5 Active Reading Questions throughout the story When you finish reading… Answer #1 and the Comprehension check questions. Then answer questions #2-3 When you finish, turn it in and read your book silently.

How might the story be different if it had taken place in Kentucky? Answer question #7 on page 872 When you finish, turn it in and Read Silently.
