To interact with UPLift! view as a Slide Showhere Using the Library This section of UPLift! is aimed at all students. It focuses on the core skills required to make effective use of the University of Portsmouths Library. For example, it will help you to locate books, journals and other resources for your subject, find out where to ask for help and have an item issued to you. Perhaps you know how to do some of these things already? Take the short quiz to find out. Perhaps you need to develop a particular skill? Take the link to find out more. If you would like some more help click on the Help! button, otherwise move to the next page using the arrow icon. Core Skills

Click on Q&A to link to a short quiz to see if you can do the basics of this skill. Click on the ? icon to find links to information, guides, video clips etc. to help you develop this skill. Move between slides by following the navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen. Tick the box when you have completed the quiz. First of all, select Slide Show, then From the Beginning.

Using the Library Core Skills When you visit the library, you can find help with the library layout on notice boards near the staircases. Of course you can always ask a member of library staff to help you locate things. You will need your student card to issue books to yourself. Follow the on screen instructions. Dont forget to take your receipt to remind you when to return the book. A colour copier is situated in the silent zone on the second floor.
