Port Credit Leadership Camp 2014 Grade 9 Leadership Camp September 5th & 6th

We want you to take part in this amazing opportunity! Congratulations! You are invited to join all our Grade 9 students at a Leadership Camp at Y.M.C.A. Camp Pine Crest in September 2014.  At Port Credit, we believe that everyone has the potential to work well with others and demonstrate leadership ability. We want you to take part in this amazing opportunity!

Join the Fun!   This is a great way to KICK START successful beginning to your future at Port Credit Secondary School – the oldest and greatest school in Peel! Camp will take place on September 5th and 6th in Muskoka at the Pine Crest Outdoor Education Centre.

Goals and Purpose of the Camp leadership growth, co-operation, mutual respect, school spirit and leadership! meet and interact with staff, senior students and Grade 9 peers We want to help you to make that giant leap into Grade 9, a great success!

A Few Important Details We set off from P.C.S.S. on Friday morning September 5th Be at school for 7:00 a.m. Departure at 7:30 a.m. Arrival at camp – 9:30 a.m. Program begins at 10:00 a.m. at camp!

Where will we stay? Sleep in comfortable camp cabins Bring your own sleeping bags, pillows and an extra blanket. Girls will sleep in one section of the camp and the boys will be in another. Senior leadership students will be assigned to each cabin group where they will act as counsellors and mentors.

What about Food? We will be eating in the camp dining hall called Kekindewin which means “place where we will meet again” There is an open salad bar and all meals are planned to meet every dietary need: regular, Halal, vegetarian, gluten, milk and nut free

Initiative Tasks

Pine Crest has an extensive set of high ropes, two climbing walls, a zip line, a pamper pole & catwalk . Certified Challenge Course staff members are on the course at all times, where safety is always first in mind. FUN and CHALLENGE… a close second.

How to Attend Camp! Registration forms are available on our website which is: www.pcssonline.com and also will be sent in hard copy to Queen Elizabeth, Riverside and Camilla. The cost is $125.00 per person which includes camp, meals, transportation and a camp T-shirt. Registration forms and money should be returned to the Port Credit Secondary School Guidance Department by Friday, June 20th to ensure your spot. If money is a concern, please contact the Port Credit Guidance Department or Mrs. Miller as we want everyone to have the opportunity to go.
