Sargent Center at Nature’s Classroom October 9-12 QUICK FACTS GOALS FACILITIES TYPICAL DAY SIXTH GRADE OUTDOOR EDUCATION Fall

2 QUICK FACTS: Located in Hancock, NH on 700 acres of forest, pond, and stream. This location serves as a living laboratory for exploration in ecology, biology, astronomy. Health Center staffed with registered nurse to administer meds and address special needs. EMT available 24 hours a day – 7 days a week. Long-standing Carlisle tradition. We encourage you to speak with students of have attended in the past. Cost of program is $375. A deposit of $110 is due by Friday, June 8th. The balance is due at the time of the trip.

3 QUICK FACTS CONTINUED:
All 6th grade faculty attend for the entire week Boy’s and girl’s dorm are chaperoned by two of the faculty overnight. School administrators visit for the day and often spend an evening in the dorm with the kids. ALL dietary needs can be accommodated by the dining room. There will be a meeting in September where the director of the camp, Larry Chambers will come to Carlisle to meet with students and parents.

Setting Individual Challenges The Four Cs (Communication, Cooperation, Commitment and Care) become the basis for our advisory program Ultimate goal: Transfer of Skills Upon Return to School.

5 FACILITIES: Lodge: the lodge is the hub of the facility and includes meeting rooms and a dining hall. All meals are family style where kids take turns serving one another and cleaning up afterwards. Dorms: There is a boy’s cabin and a girl’s cabin. All dorms have individual showers, bathrooms and hot & cold running water. Each room hosts 4-6 students in bunk beds.

Family-style breakfast at 8:00 am with morning announcements Morning activity with instructors Transition time Lunch and reflection time Afternoon activity and snack Dinner Evening activity Lights out at 10:00 pm
