Q.4 Who would be the audience for your media product? Evaluation Questions Fardad Khayami A-level Media

Primary Target Audience Middle Class Men/ Women/ Couples 15-24 British Audience

Primary Audience- Classes My film targets the middle class like other horror films e.g.-Paranormal Activities. I am targeting the middle class specifically the A-C1 income bracket. They will most likely have access to devices, such as a computer, that can access sites as YouTube and Vimeo to watch my film. When screening my film in a Middle Class school I got great feedback. See the feedback I received in a downloadable file to the link: I give an example of the data I received on the next slide.

Data Analysis From Screening Questionnaire The Majority of people liked the sequence. I must assume that it applied to the most amount of people. Those who answered “No” provided no reasoning to their response. 92% of viewers liked the film, while shown in a middle class school. The audience of the screening were 13- 40 year olds. Both students and teachers where watching and answered questionnaires.

Primary Audience- Gender I will be Targeting any gender. Both Genres enjoy watching Horror films as they are one of the genres that almost universal, not one gender group enjoy especially more than the other. Both men and women enjoy being frightened by the onscreen drama. Females will not be put of by my Opening Sequence as there is not to much blood and gore, only the final shot of the sequence when the victim is murdered. Any Gender enjoys watching Horror films as supported in the questionnaire I asked after the screening. The opening sequence will be especially scary for girls. With the female victim, home alone when the intruder enters, It will make them scared of this, being home alone as they can relate to this. I am especially targeting couples for my film as a demographic. Horror films are popular for couples to watch together, as they can comfort each other when they are scared watching the film, especially teenage couples.

Primary Audience- Age My primary target audience are 15-25 Year olds. Horror Films are usually rated 15. This means that the content is appropriate for 15s and over. Therefore the I will target those as young as 15 to 25 as the primary target audience group. Younger viewers from 15-25 love watching Horror films due to the thrills that it provides. These thrills allow them to escape from their regular daily lives, that of going to school and doing homework, making it very popular in younger viewers. The younger will also not be ‘put off’ from the graphic images that occur during my Opening Sequence. An example would be the 2013 films ‘The Conjuring’ that was very popular in these age ranges.

Primary Audience- Race/ Location I will be targeting a British audience. My film is an British independent film, shot and located in Britain. It is more likely for a British audience to watch this film than an European audience, as they would want to watch independent films that represent them, shot in their respected country. They want to watch the film from their country in order to offer support. Because my actress is white and British it will attract this audience, as they are able to relate her more e.g.- drinking tea at the beginning. This is common British behavior that British people can relate to. I will be targeting people from all around Britain, as their are working class families all around the UK

Secondary Audience- Classes Upper Class I still believe upper class in the primary age range (15-25) will still enjoy the opening sequence and the horror/thriller genre. These children will still have time on their hands to watch he film when released on YouTube. They are secondary audience as not much upper-class children would want to watch an independent film. They would prefer watching

Secondary Audience- Age 35-50 I am targeting the Horror “geeks” who are in love with the genre from childhood, they collect horror books and magazines about heir favorite horror films and characters. They would be attracted by an independent horror film and would watch it. However there are not many of them to attract a large enough audience, therefore are not primary audience.
