Math SOL Scores: Plan of Action Common Warm-Ups Tutoring Saturday Academy Math Camp Online Testing Technology Enhanced Items Parent SOL Night - WUs - in SOL format, allows for daily review instead of waiting until two weeks before SOL to start reviewing) - Tutoring (before school, during directed study, after school, students pulled out of their elective classes for remediation, strand specific) - Offer Saturday Academy - All tests given on the computer (so students can get used to seeing 1 question a time and taking tests on the computer) - Math camp -students will rotate between four rooms to receive tutoring on each strand of the SOL) - Create technology enhanced items for each chapter to allow students to practice using the tools - Parent Information Nights (explain to parents how the current tests differ from the tests under the old standards and how we all play a part in preparing students for the SOL tests)

Conclusion FMS is serving a unique student body A lot of energy goes into remediating to achieve accreditation There are equity issues for both: Students as members of the FMS community School as a member of the HCPS community Involving all stakeholders in a committed process to improve the educational experience for all students
