Employer Ready Candidates Join the Talent Pool

The criteria for becoming an ERC was designed to help job seekers generate successful job searching plans and allow the WBC to track success of certain sectors, workshops, and job search techniques.  

Benefits for the Business Industry Better prepared candidates to review. Better assessment of growth opportunity. Less need for initial recruitment to find qualified talent. A financial savings can be had when posting can be filled before it has to be reposted. A savings of time and effort can be gained when there is a process in place that can be trusted. A preview of soft skills before the interview through an assessment.

Benefits for the Job Seeker ERC’s will be confident that they are prepped for the job search process- From application through job acceptance. Easier access to programs like OJT and Apprenticeships Can identify skills and talent gaps-This, in turn, can generate opportunities for customized training. Better preparation for job fairs and hiring events Networking assistance from the Business Service Team Regular support throughout the job search process Clear identification of strengths in both hard and soft skills

Job Seekers are assessed in 8 areas and must score 70% or above in all areas: Attitude Communication Planning & Organization Critical Thinking Interpersonal/Social Skills Teamwork Professionalism Media Rules Training Modules: Applicants can take the modules before the assessments or they will be assigned automatically in areas of weakness. (This can be done at home.)
