Cover Letter and Resume: After reading about and considering the qualities of instructional leadership, you should have a better understanding of what it takes to become an instructional leader and how well you are positioned to be an instructional leader. Therefore, this is a good time to think about your career prospects. How will you “sell” yourself as an instructional leader to prospective employers? Therefore this exercise is an opportunity to market yourself to a hypothetical employer. In today’s job market, communicating this information to potential employers is extremely important. You may be required to demonstrate how your skills will better serve their organization and “sell” your potential value to them.

4. You will need to follow the following steps to complete this assignment: Do a career search for educational positions you are interested in. You can use the tools available in Career Network on your KUCampus page, search job postings listed on various professional organization Websites, or job search Websites such as CareerBuilder.com and Monster.com. When you find a position you are interested in, write a cover letter and resume you could submit.

5. In the cover letter, make sure you include a paragraph that describes how your current and future training will add value to the job position. Aim to keep your cover letter and resume to one page each. This assignment is due at the end of Unit 2 and is worth 40 points.
