Shut Down Shut down apps Double-touch the home button to access any app that is currently running in a bar along the bottom. Shut Down Shut down the iPad One of the great things with an iPad is how it up and running right away. If you trying to save battery (or going a long period without turning it on), you can do a hard shut-down by holding the top power button. You will get a message “Slide to power off”

Customize Custom wallpaper You can use any picture in your Photos as Wallpaper. When in Photos, view the picture and touch the icon next to the trash in the upper-right corner (if the icons are not there, touch the pictures and it will appear). From the menu, select “Use as Wallpaper” - you can select a picture for your lock screen and your home screen.

Customize Re-arrange apps Touch and hold an app until the apps shake. You can move the apps around to a setup you prefer.

Customize Change the email signature In settings, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars - on the right you can customize some of your mail settings. Some to look at: Preview lines, Signature setting, Organize by Thread

Shut Down Control notifications Save battery life (and embarrassment in meetings): in your settings choose Notifications, go through the apps and set the notifications; you can set sounds, alerts (like a text message), badges (red circles with number inside). I turn off as many as possible.
