4 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Log-in to your H and other drives Getting started on your iPad Type the MMU Home Staff page www.mmu.ac.uk/staff/www.mmu.ac.uk/staff/ in the address bar Tap here to get the log-in screen Type in your log-in details here Once you have logged-in you can then create a short-cut for quick access

If you think a drive is missing please report this to the IT Helpdesk Tel: 0161 247 4646 or email: it.helpline@mmu.ac.uit.helpline@mmu.ac.u NOTE: You will remain logged into the MMU Portal while the i-pad is powered on and in its sleep mode. When you power off the i-pad you will then be logged out of the MMU Portal, you will need to log back in on start up Getting started on your iPad Log-in to your H and other drives and creating short-cuts

6 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Adding shortcuts to your home page Getting started on your iPad Once you are on the website you can create a shortcut to it that will sit on your home screen On the next screen Select Add From the page you want a short cut to (in this case it’s MyHr) Select the Share icon and then select Add to Home Screen

7 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Your Shortcut will now appear on your ipad home screen Getting started on your iPad Adding shortcuts to your home page Tap on the shortcut and The MyHr home page will appear

8 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Create Folders for your Web Links and Apps To create a folder all you need to do is tap and hold on an App until they all start to jiggle, then drag the app over another icon and release. The folder will be named according to the category of the Apps or Icons it contains, but you can rename it as you like. Getting started on your iPad

9 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Getting started on your iPad Re-name your folders by pressing on the title bar and then press the cross icon On the next screen view you will be able to type in your new title and save by pressing the Home button Create Bookmarks for your Web Links and Apps Home button

14 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Link shortcut to your MyHr log-in page Accessing MyHR on your iPad Once you are on the MyHr log-in page https://myhr.mmu.ac.uk:8444/irj/portal you can create a shortcut to MyHr on your ipad home screen.https://myhr.mmu.ac.uk:8444/irj/portal Select the Share icon and then select Add to Home Screen On the next screen Select Add

15 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Accessing MyHR on your iPad Looking at these two identical pages you see that when you're in Landscape view you do not see the whole page When in Portrait view it enables a full view of the page Enable full page view Simply turn your iPad through 90 degrees to change from landscape to portrait view and vice versa

16 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Accessing MyHR on your iPad Using the zoom option to help you input data Standard view Tap to disable keyboard(this will remove the keyboard from the bottom of the screen) To enable zoom, touch the screen and pinch with your fingers Zoomed view with the keyboard enabled To make the keyboard reappear tap into any text box to start typing and the keyboard will return to the screen

17 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Accessing Microsoft Word on your iPad Download the Word App (free download, no Apple account required from i-tunes) Tap on the App and the page to download Word for iPad will appear Word opening screen Installing the Word App for i-pad Type Microsoft Word into the search bar to find the App This box will initially say Download. Tap it and once the download is complete the Open button will appear. Tap it and Word will open on your iPad

18 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Word App Home screen and AutoSave Accessing Microsoft Word on your iPad Select the file you wish to open Select the Share icon for more options If you want the document to appear on the list every time you open Word, Select the Pin icon to send your file to the Pinned List Your selected file opened in Word Tap here to create a new document

24 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Accessing Outlook on your iPad The following screen will appear Enter your e-mail address Your password Add a description if you require one (for example – ‘work email’) After you’ve entered your details tap next to move on Ensure your e-mail address is shown here Type outlook.mmu.ac.uk in the Server box Tip: Tapping in the box will bring up the keyboard) Type in your MMU username and password In the Domain box type in ad.mmu.ac.uk Setting up your Outlook account Tap next to move on, and on the next screen check the details are correct then tap Save

25 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Accessing Outlook on your iPad On the last screen of the setup, select any of the services that you wish to enable for synchronisation Tap each slider on or off to enable synchronisation Make sure that you set Mail Days to Sync to No Limits or All Events (on later ipads) to show all e-mails Setting up your Outlook account

27 www.mmu.ac.uk/itservices/ IT Services Opening an attachment from your e-mail account The opened attachment will appear within Outlook Tap the email you want to read to see it in the viewing pane Tap on the Word attachment to open it Accessing Outlook on your iPad Open your e-mail account and open the e-mail with the attachment To open the document in an App touch the top of the screen to get the Shared icon to appear. Tap the Shared icon to see your options. Select Word in this case
