The New York Times as it appears on the Web

The New York Times App fits better into the IPhone/IPod Touch. It is so much easier to read!

Miner website as it appears on IPhone/IPod Touch.

Some websites adjust automatically to the small screen. Our News & Tips blog is an example of that.

Start by clicking on the icon for the Apps Store. Downloading Apps to Your iPhone or Ipod

Apps are organized by category (you can scroll down to see more). Click on Music to download a music application.

From the Music list, Ive selected Top Free. Click on Pandora to download the free Pandora app.

Information about the app will display. This sounds interesting – and its free – so Ill click on FREE to download it. (Apps that are available for purchase have a BUY button.)

The, click INSTALL.

Youll be prompted for your iTunes Password. Once you enter that…

Pandora will begin to load – and youre ready to play.

If you decide you dont want the app, simply hold your finger on the icon until it starts to jiggle. Then, click on the X to delete.

Typing Tips Error correction: If you type a common word and misspell it, the correctly spelled word should pop up below it. Hit RETURN, and the correctly spelled word should be substituted. Tap lightly on the screen to get the cursor to move to a different spot. Double tap the space bar at the end of a sentence to insert a period.

More Typing Tips To insert a comma- slide your finger from the.?123 key to the x key. You can slide your finger from one letter to another, and the iPod wont type the letter until you let go. To copy and paste: double tap on the word/words, then touch Select, then touch copy. Go to the spot where you want to paste, double tap, choose paste!

Typing Tip contd For a contraction: type it quickly, and the correct word should appear. Hit return, and it will be entered. Hold your finger on a key for a while to see the special characters that may be helpful for foreign sounding words. Put your finger/thumb on the center of a letter for easiest typing.
