Comprehensive Evaluation Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation ( C.C.E) for Classes IX- X

Part 1: Scholastic Areas First Term Formative Assessment (FA1) = 10% Formative Assessment (FA2) = 10% Summative Assessment (SA1) =30% (September) (FA1+FA2+SA1 = 50%) Second Term Formative Assessment (FA3) = 10% Formative Assessment (FA4) = 10% Summative Assessment (SA2) =30% (March) FA3+FA4+SA2 = 50%) Term1+Term2 = 100%

Formative assessment in Kendriya Vidyalaya. FA1: Pen paper test , 1 ½ Hours duration and maximum marks = 40, weightage 10 marks FA2: Activities performed during April to September : weightage 10 Marks FA3: FA4: Activities performed during October to February : weightage 10 Marks

Summative assessment 1. Summative Assessments will be the Pen Paper Test. 2. Maximum marks for each subject = 90 It will be calculated out of 30.

Grading System GRADE GRADE POINT 91-100 A1 10.0 81-90 A2 9.0 71-80 B1 8.0 61-70 B2 7.0 51-60 C1 6.0 41-50 C2 5.0 33-40 D 4.0 21-32 E1 3.0 00-20 E2 2.0 Minimum qualifying grade in all the subjects under Scholastic Domain is D.

CGPA(Cummulative Grade Point Average) CGPA = Average of Grade Points of all the subjects

EIOP: Eligible for improvement of performance 1 EIOP: Eligible for improvement of performance 1. Marks obtained in (SA1 +SA2) must be 25 % or more and minimum grade D in each subject to qualify the examination. 2. EIOP- Eligible for improvement of performance will be given in case of (a) E1 or E2 grade in any subject. (b) Marks obtained in (SA1 +SA2) is less than 25 % in any subject.

Upgradation Policy How CBSE is doing “Upgradation” ?

Marks for each category = 5 Categories 2A-Life Skills (Emotional, Thinking and Social) : 3 X 5 = 15 2B - Work Education : 1 X 5 = 5 2C - Visual and Performing Arts: 1 X 5 = 5 2D - Attitude and Values : 4 X 5 = 20 3A – Co-curricular activities : 2 X 5 = 10 3B – Health and Physical Edu. : 2 X 5 = 15 Total = : 65

In case of 53-65 marks obtained in co- scholastic area:- Upgradation to the next higher grade in two subjects in scholastic area. In case of 40-52 marks obtained in co- scholastic area :- Upgradation to the next higher grade in one subjects in scholastic area. No upgradation below 40 No Grade upgrade twice No upgradation done if the grade is E2 or E1
