Class – IX

2 ACADEMIC PATTERN - WILL BE BASED ON THE NEW SYSTEM OF ASSESSMENT & EXAMINATION INTRODUCED BY CBSE.
There will be no semester system, students will be assessed on the basis of pen and paper test conducted at the end of the term. There will be a component of internal assessment which will include periodic tests and mid term examination.

8 Final Assessment for Class IX
Periodic Test – Average of mid term exam and best of the two periodic test : 10 m ASL/ Subject enrichment activities ( average of both periodic) : 5 m Notebook Submission ( average of both periodic) : 5 m End term examination : 80 m End Term Examination ( February) Entire curriculum will be tested. Exams will be conducted by school for Class IX and by CBSE for Class X.

9 Performance will be assessed through marks and grades
Grades will be awarded on a 8 point scale. Marks Grade 91—100 A 1 81- 90 A2 71-80 B 1 61-70 B 2 51-60 C 1 41- 50 C 2 33-40 D 32 & below E The qualifying grade in each subject under Scholastic Area A shall be minimum Grade D

10 PROMOTION RULE In order to be declared as having passed class IX Examination, a student must obtain a minimum of 33% marks in BOTH the Internal Assessment AND the End Term Examination separately and in each of the five subjects Individually. If a student scores less than 33% in one subject, it will be considered as compartment, and he/she will have to write the compartment exam and score above 33% in it for promotion to class X. If a student scores less than 33% in two or more subjects, he/she will be considered detained in class IX. A printed performance profile will be given after the Mid-term and End Term Examinations. It will reflect the marks and grades scored by the student in internal assessments and the term examinations.

Anecdotal Records An anecdotal record is the observed behaviour of a student. It is a record of some significant episode that happened in the life of the student and which sheds light on the conduct, thinking, skills and capabilities, revealing significant features and characteristics about his/her personality. 16 Portfolio It is the collection of evidence of a student’s work over a period of time. It could be day-to-day work or selection of the learner’s best piece of work.
