Welcome Community Partners! September 13, 2016

What you need to know about EHES EHES is presently a Title I school We are 90% free and reduced lunch Ethnicity - 71% Minority Our children are provided free breakfast daily We have a weekend backpack food program where we service 55 children. This food is provided by our local Deliver the Difference. Our Mission and Vision for this school year : We - EHES will provide a successful learning community for our students and to become an A+ school. As you probably know, EHES was an F three years ago; and, we have been able to maintain a “C” the last two years, but our ultimate goal is to become an “A” school again and to maintain that status.

“Capturing Kids’ Hearts” - Building “Capturing Kids’ Hearts” - Building meaningful/productive relationships with every student and colleagues Our Motto again this school year is “Capturing Kids Hearts”……………we want to continue making a difference in the lives of our children, let them know that we care and our priority is to meet their basic needs while they are here at school and to educate them to be best of our ability. Having volunteers and mentors here on campus makes a huge impact on these children and helps us attain that goal.

Business partners How Can Your Business Specifically Help EHES: Have school supply drive to benefit our school in the fall and/or winter Donate Holiday food baskets for our neediest families Give Coupons to local fast food restaurants for student incentives Gift cards for teacher drawings

Business Partners Donate funds for classroom libraries……….$100.00 Donate monetarily for Student Attendance Incentives; gift cards/small toys/new children’s books/games Donate monetarily for economically disadvantaged children to attend and experience educational field trips Feed teachers breakfast/lunch throughout the school year; cost for breakfast approximately $100.00 Personally Volunteer and/or Mentor our students Allow your employees to volunteer/mentor during the workday

What our Volunteers Mentors do for EHES and our students: Improves a student's academic performance Reduces serious discipline infractions: less suspensions when adults are involved in a child’s education Helps the child have a positive attitude toward school and homework Mentors and volunteers in the classroom gives a child another adult to talk to and influence the choices they make in and out of school and helps with their communication and articulation Helps a child develop more self confidence and their self esteem increases when more adults are involved and care about him/her If you suspect abuse from the conversation with your mentee, please be sure you see me or one of the guidance counselors. We can make a determination as to the next step.

School Volunteers and mentors….. Having volunteers and mentors helps to improve a child’s attendance and our goal this year is that we have 98% of our children in school everyday and all day. Mentors and Volunteers help increase the communication between parents and school; some mentors are involved in children outside of school……………optional Gives you as mentors and volunteers a good insight as to what a teacher faces each day…. Also gives you an idea of what resources we have and maybe what we still need. Last year our mentors and volunteers donated approximately $400.00 to purchase Sunshine Young Readers books………………..

Volunteers and Mentors-- Complete volunteer form online Let me know you have completed the application Provide a schedule of availability to Mrs. Boyd You will be contacted once you are approved Very Important: Be sure to sign in at the computer in the front office each time you come volunteer!

Thank You! Thank you for your commitment to the students and teachers of Eustis Heights Elementary! We could not succeed without dedicated Business Partners, Volunteers and Mentors!!!! Questions??
