3. Overview Title I is the largest federally funded program for schools.
It provides funding for high poverty schools to help students who are behind academically or who are at risk of falling behind in our State’s academic content and performance standards.
Schools qualify for Title I funds based on economic needs (free and reduced lunch).
The Title I program supports a variety of services based on school need including but not limited to: additional teachers, instructional materials, technology, additional training for staff, parental involvment program support, etc.

4. Parents in Title I schools have the right to:
Be a part of developing a written parent involvement policy.
Be involved in the planning and implementation of the parent involvement program in their school.
Receive materials and training to foster greater parent involvement.
Jointly develop, with school staff, a school-parent compact.
Know the qualifications of their child’s teacher and teacher assistant, and to also know if their child is being taught by someone who is not ‘highly qualified’ who will be in that position for 4 or more weeks.

Swift Creek Elementary School will increase the number of staff with fewer than 10 days absent from 59% to 64% and the number of students from 39% to 44%.
Swift Creek Elementary School will increase the teacher retention rate from 70% to 80%.
