1 WELCOME Room B6 Mrs. Oakley & Mrs. Holmes

2 About the Teacher My name is Shay Oakley. I am from Sardis, MS. I graduated from the University of Mississippi with my Bachelor’s degree in 2006 and my Master’s degree in This is my 10th year at Hope Sullivan Elementary. I have taught first grade for 9 years and absolutely love it! Please do not hesitate if you have any questions. You can always call the school or me. Remember to check out our website every week

3 How We get Home Please make sure you let me know how your child is getting home. CAR RIDERS- YOU MUST have your car rider strip with your child’s name on it in order to go through the car rider line. Please see the office about YMCA aftercare if you are interested

4 BREAKFAST Kids can go straight to the cafeteria to eat breakfast every morning. Breakfast ends everyday at 7:45. If a child arrives after this time, they will not be allowed to eat breakfast. BREAKFAST starts August 6th. Breakfast cost $1.25 for those who do not receive free or reduced lunch..30 for reduced

5 LUNCH Lunch cost $2. 75 unless you are approved for free or reduced lunch. Parents are welcome to come eat lunch with us any day after the first week of school. Our lunch time is from 11:00-11:25

6 ACTIVITY SCHEDULE 9:15-9:55 Monday- P.E. (Don't forget your tennis shoes) Tuesday- Art Wednesday- Computer Thursday-Library Friday- Music

7 School Supplies Please send in your school supplies as soon as possible. Make sure they are labeled with your child’s name

8 COMMUNICATION Student’s will take home a folder every night.
Please review the folder and return it every morning. Please check for homework, newsletters, behavior log, etc… You may also write me notes here!

9 HOMEWORK Your child will have homework. Please check your child’s folder every night for homework. If your child does not finish his/her class work it will be sent home as homework as well. The library is a great resource for books. I can also lend books if needed

10 REWARDS Students who do not break the rules and show exceptional behavior will be rewarded. Treasure box dollars will be handed out to spend on the treasure box treats and coupons Other rewards include: coupons, stickers, no homework passes, treats, etc…
