Mr. Thrift’s Science Class 2017-2018

Before Class Line up on the wall across from the classroom.

Entering Class Sharpen all pencils (No Pens in class) Get out all your materials Work on the warm-up No loud talking Finish all materials given

During Class Do not get up from your seat Respect the person who is talking Raise your head to be called on Do not distract others Pay Attention

During Labs Obey Lab Safety procedures No Horse Play If you make a mess, clean it up! Don’t bother others in another group. Everyone must participate

Exiting Class Collect all your materials. You will not be allowed back to my room. Exit ASAP, don’t wait on your friends.

Fire Drill Stop what you are doing Line up along the cabinets in a line No talking, wait for directions Go directly to the assigned location No pushing or shoving

Lock Down Stop working Move to the prep room No Talking Minimal Moving Wait for directions

Computer Expectations You will be only on website I provide You are assigned a computer If the computer is messed up, report it Only use the Chromebook assigned to you.

Restroom No passes the first 15 minutes or last 15 minutes of class. You have to wait for your escort. You must sign out to go to the restroom.

Cell Phones JMA Rules say “NO Cell Phones” If you are caught it will be turned into the office. Check the handbook for consequences.

Hall Pass You must have your agenda to leave class. No Passes to other Classes. No Passes to the councilor unless you make arrangments.

Grading 35% 65% Classwork/Informal Assignments/ Homework 5 are only needed this year and not 10. Formal Assignments/ Projects/ Test 65% 4 per 9 weeks

Informal Grading Class Assignments Must be completed in the class time Homework Due when you return 2 class periods late 50% Points will be removed for late work.

Formal Grading All students that score a 79 or below must retest. This is not an option 80 and above will not retest

Assignment Collection Paper Assignments are to be turned in to the classwork or homework box I will not accept things by hand Electronic is due in Google Classroom and not by email. IF assignment is late I will grade it as such

Absence from Class It is your responsibility to complete all work missed in class I will not come to find you to tell you what you are missing. I will not come find you when you miss.
