College in the High School/Cornerstone

College in the High School/Cornerstone Earn college credit while still attending your high school Courses are actual CWU classes Taught by your high school teacher (Adjunct faculty) 10th, 11th and 12th grade students can take college classes

The difference is who pays for it. That is it! College in the High School/Cornerstone Forms- What is the difference? The difference is who pays for it. That is it! College in the High School is paid for by the State of Washington (you owe nothing) Cornerstone is private pay, which means when you and your parents sign the bottom of the registration form you agree to pay the amount owed 10th grade students can only register using a Cornerstone form

Why would I want to participate? Earn college credit and high school credit Your college credit can be transferred to any college in the state of Washington Most out-of-state colleges also accept the credit Save MONEY What you pay is 75% cheaper than normal tuition at CWU $55 per credit (5 credit class X $55= $275) Earning credit is NOT determined by a single test (like AP) You earn your grade through the work you do in class A college class on a HS campus allows for more time with subject matter/teacher

Deadlines Student Uncontested Withdrawal= Still have to pay for the class*and receive a W+ on official college transcripts W+ means withdrawal and it does not effect your GPA or standing Student Complete Withdrawal= Still have to pay for the class*and receive a W on official college transcripts. This means you are completely withdrawn from CWU and not taking any classes W means withdrawal and it does not effect your GPA or standing Hardship Withdrawal= Still have to pay for the class* and receive a HW on official college transcripts. This is only if you have a hardship (illness etc. and need to get out of the class) HW means Hardship withdrawal and it does not affect your GPA or standing Do not send in a registration if you do not want to sign up for the class Ask your teacher for the deadline specific days or check out our website: http://www.cwu.edu/runningstart/ *charges may be waived due to special circumstances
