GRADING NO missing work! Individual projects have specific rubrics – these will always be shared so you know what to expect, and what it will take to succeed. Longer/more complicated projects are worth more points With few grades going into the grade book, EVERY grade counts Grade set up: Projects 70% Classwork 20% EOC 10% NO missing work!

Turning in Your Work Label your work Your name : First and Last Use your real name Make it LEGIBLE Attach rubric

Turning in Your Work Late Work I expect work to be turned in on time. If you cannot finish a work on time, communicate with me the reasons, a solution, and when you will turn it in. Please Don’t Make Me Chase You Down  Absences Your are responsible for making up all assignments when you are absent. If you are absent on the day a project is due, you are responsible for remembering to turn it in as soon as you return.

Why teachers dislike late work

ALWAYS REMEMBER

Treat others the way they would want to be treated EXPECTATIONS Treat others the way they would want to be treated

Take care of classroom materials and supplies

Keep the classroom clean

Talk only when appropriate and keep the volume level appropriate

Come prepared to work and to learn

Don’t be afraid to try

Pay attention and follow instructions

Be kind and polite

If it is not yours, don’t touch it (and keep your hands to yourself)

Use appropriate language

Do not distract or disrupt others

When I need to talk to a student about behavior:

What Happens if my behavior doesn’t meet expectation? Natural Consequences Make a mess, clean it up Behave rudely, apologize and make up for it Ruin/break something, replace it Change of seat Call home Behavior form

When I need to talk to a student repeatedly about behavior, remember this:

What are we going to do? Think…Think…Think Create Reflect Try…Try…Try Learn how to LOOK at, TALK about, and WRITE about ART. Draw portraits, landscapes and still lifes, using pencil, ink, and oil pastels. Paint portraits, landscapes, and still lifes using watercolors, and acrylics. Create prints using carving blocks and ink. Study and create artworks in one and two point perspective. Study and critique the Art of Claude Monet and Albrecht Durer. Study and use the following styles: Realism, Abstract, Impressionism, and more!

This classroom is a cell free zone. This means all devices I will play music of different genres Your phone and art media (paint, charcoal, water, etc.) don’t mix Art requires focus 1- warning (total – not per day) 2- I will take phone to office The office will allow you to pick it up yourself only once 3- I will take phone to the office Parent will have to pick it up
