What I Will Show You of Photography “A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart, and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it.”- unknown When I was little, my mom had a Polaroid camera. When she would get it out, I would run around with my old friend Spencer, taking pictures of anything and everything, even if they were not good at all. I’ve always loved photography. In this PowerPoint, I will be showing you the nature of the work, the conditions, education information, salary, and a related occupation.

Nature of the Work Things you have to do to be a photographer: Gear maintenance and upkeep Lighting setup Supervising/performing post-processing Location selection Knowledge of wide range of equipment

Working Conditions This work is mainly physical, because you have to take pictures. This job can be indoors as much as it is outdoors. The hours are flexible usually. The environment of a photographer depends on the photographer. It could be inside or outside, tense or relaxed, or anything like that.

Education Information To be a photographer, you usually do not have to have a degree, but it would help to have an bachelors degree. I personally plan on going to Saginaw Valley Sate University for photography. To prepare me for this career, I will not have to take any specific classes.

Job Outlook 2% of photographers are unemployed, 10% are in arts and recreation, 7% are in information and cultural industries, 77% are in professional scientific and technical services, and 5% are in other services. Photography has increased as a profession. The photography job is very competitive. There are no specific businesses that I want to work at.

Money My lifestyle goals are to make a name for myself in the industry, to somehow change someone’s life, and to go on vacations. The average earnings are $23,000. This doesn’t fit my goals unless I save up and go on vacation, unless I become bigger. My first purchase with these earnings would probably be more and better equipment so I could take better pictures.

Backup Career: Counselor Responsibilities: provide services to students that does not discriminate, remain current in respectful fields, and maintain safty. The working conditions is always being around people and sometimes computers. The training you need is at least a bachelors degree. The average earnings are $42000. I chose this career because I work well with people.

Summary I feel like photography would be a job that I not only would like, but that I would be good at. The one thing I look forward to most in this career is being able to do what I love: take pictures. I’ve learnt that I might not make as much money as I wish I did on average, but I still want to be a photographer.
