WE ARE PROUD OF OUR Y6 They have been an excellent Y6 who have worked and played hard all year. All of the Hollyfield community are proud of their achievements

CHANGES TO ASSESSMENT Levels gone 2015 children were assessed at either L3, L4, L5 or L6 New assessment is linked to national standard for Y6 These standards are much harder than the previous years Y6 only had two years worth of the new curriculum instead of four They have done fantastically well and made excellent progress this year

THE ASSESSMENTS YOU WILL RECEIVE ABOUT YOUR CHILD Teacher Assessment  Classroom Monitor assessment of learning- Real time what your children can do day in and day out  This is the most important assessment and shows what your children can really do!!!! Test Results  Snap shot of the children’s ability  Pressurised and timed  Small groups to help the children feel more comfortable  Reading test was particularly difficult  Linked to the national agenda of raising standards in primary sch ool

MAKING SENSE OF THE CODES FOR THE KS2 ASSESSMENTS Test Results  Raw score – the amount of marks your child has achieved in the test  Scaled score  Standard met or not  AS = achieved the standard  NS= has not achieved the standard Teacher Assessment For reading, mathematics and science  EXS – expected standard  HNM- has not met the standard For Writing only  GDS- working at greater depth  EXS – expected  WTS- working towards
