Expectation Cards Pursue Excellence – Be the best

Expectation Cards At Castle View we expect our students to conduct themselves in an exemplary manner at all times and to follow the school rules. To help students with this, we have introduced an expectation card that all students will be given. The expectation cards will also allow staff at Castle View to monitor standards more effectively. By following the school rules students can earn rewards. There are sanctions related to the expectation cards which are listed in the following presentation that has gone out to students in assemblies. If you have any queries relating to the new cards please do not hesitate to contact your child’s head of year. We appreciate your continued support and co-operation

Expectation Cards This is the card students will be issued with

Expectations Cards What students need to do  You must have it with you every day  You must keep it safe  Do not let it go through the wash or leave it at home.  You must be able to access it at all times during the day (It fits in your blazer pocket)  Do not let anyone else have it (report this straight away)  Only staff are allowed to write or make changes on the card  Give it to staff immediately when asked  You must have a pen available for the staff to sign it  Lost cards need to be reported to your head of year  Replacement cards will be issued but you will forfeit the prize draws at the end of that term

Expectation Cards How will they work?  All students will have an expectations card  Students who are not meeting the expected standards will be asked for their card by a member of staff  Staff will sign, date and circle the standard on the card  If a student receives five signatures they will be set a detention  Students can gain rewards for clear cards  Staff can monitor the high standards we expect of our students.

Rewards and Sanctions

Expectation Cards Rewards  Students with a blank card that has not been replaced at the end of each term will go into a prize draw.  There will be one prize draw per year group  The winner will receive a prize and 50 stripe points  Students with less than ten signatures on a card that has not been replaced at the end of the term will go into an additional prize draw.  They will also receive a prize and 25 stripe points  Every student who has a week without any signatures on their card will be awarded 15 stripe points by their form tutor or head of year.

Sanctions  Inability to hand over your card if requested by a member of staff will result in a detention  5 signatures will result in a detention  Expectation card detentions will be on a Friday night for 1 hour  Failure to attend will result in a detention for 1 hour 30 minutes  Failure to attend the reset detention will result in a serious sanction Expectation card detentions will be on a Friday but your teacher can still set you a detention for not following the school rules on any day.
