Mid-Term – 10%
Final – 10%
Please note: I reserve the right to add or modify assignments if it will improve the effectiveness of the class. 

9. In this class, there are expectations as to how you are to behave
In this class, there are expectations as to how you are to behave. I have set rules that are to be followed in order to maximize the productivity and safety of this classroom. I CANNOT and WILL NOT allow you to do anything that will interfere with the learning of anyone in our class. To ensure that this will be a safe environment conducive to learning, these rules will be followed:

10. Classroom Rules Be on time.
Only one person may speak at a time. Raise your hand for permission.
Follow all rules and regulations listed in your student handbook. This includes cell phone use, attendance, dress code, and technology regulations.
Everyone in the classroom will show respect to teachers, staff, and students. This includes NO talking, laughing, or negative comments when someone is participating in a class discussion, NO vulgar language, and ABSOLUTELY NO talking back.
Stay in your seat unless you have permission – no random wandering

11. My expectation is that our classroom will be one that fosters positive relationships and an outstanding learning environment. 

12. Positive Consequences
If you CHOOSE to follow the rules you will earn these consequences. Limited homework (because we will be able to do more in class) Playing a game in class (ex: Jeopardy or Bingo) Verbal praise + Other “surprises” 

13. Negative Consequences
If you CHOOSE to break the rules you will earn these consequences.
1st offense – Verbal warning
2nd offense – Verbal warning
3rd offense – Phone call home
4th offense – After School Detention

14. Extra Help Policy
I am here to help you! If you need help, I encourage you to come to see me. If you are unable to attend the designated time for extra help I will do my best to accommodate you at other times. Please… by all means do not wait until the day before a test!

15. Policy to Leave the Room
You may use the bathroom in the beginning of class (before the bell rings) or during class only if it is an emergency. +Do not expect to be able to use the bathroom during class, go during your passing periods.

16. Detention Policy
Students who are deemed necessary to serve an after school detention must report immediately after their last class.
Detentions will be served before or after school and are 20 minutes.
Missed detentions will turn into an office referral.
You must tell me the day of the detention if you need to reschedule or it will be considered a skipped conference.

17. Homework Policy
Homework is due the day after it is assigned (unless told otherwise)

18. Policy on Cheating/Plagiarism
Any form of cheating is a serious offense! Students who are caught cheating or plagiarizing on an assignment or assessment will earn a F on that assignment.

Policy on Journals
Journals essential to your learning and retention of the material!
These assignments will take 5-10 minutes to complete, and should be completed independently.
Journals are assigned as soon as you enter the room, and you are expected to begin working on it immediately.
These assignments will be collected and graded as a QUIZ.

20. Policy on Late Work
You may turn work in work late for a reduced grade. It is much better to get a lower grade for turning in an assignment late then to get an F for not turning in anything at all.

21. Policy on Make-Up Homework
Students who were absent when homework is assigned are required to ask for the homework and complete it within two days. This is your responsibility – I probably will not remember to give it to you.
