10 St Mary’s Catholic College Pupils are expected to be in college every day and to arrive on time. We expect the highest possible level of attendance. Absence from lessons significantly hinders progress. THE FACTS: 90% Attendance = 97 lessons missed 80% Attendance = 197 lessons missed (This adds up to a whole school year over the 5 years in school)

11 St Mary’s Catholic College ABSENCE PROCEDURE If your child is absent then you must ring the college in the morning to explain why. You must also send them back in with a note from yourself as this is a legal requirement.

12 St Mary’s Catholic College MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS If your child needs to sign out during the college day, you must send them in with a note to explain. This must then be authorised by the Head of Year / Progress & Aspiration Coach before they can sign out. If they come back in later that day they must also sign back in at the attendance office.

13 St Mary’s Catholic College LATE PROCEDURE Students are expected to arrive to college on time each day. In the rare event that a student is late, they must have a note from Parents / carers to explain the reason why they are late.

18 St Mary’s Catholic College If your child requires medication then it must be sent into college in its original packaging. It must have your child’s name on it. It must show how many times it is to be taken. There must be a note or signature to show you give consent for your child to take this in college. It must be given to the school nurse in the morning. If your child has permanent medications or inhalers it is recommended that you leave a spare with the school nurse
