 I F A STUDENT DECIDES TO TAKE A VACATION WHILE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION; THE STUDENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MAKE-UP WORK. The teacher is not responsible for missed class time or assignments.  ABSENCES MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A NOTE UPON THE STUDENT’S RETURN.  IF ABSENT FROM SCHOOL, A STUDENT IS NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITY OR SPORTING EVENT.  WHEN A STUDENT ARRIVES AFTER 7:45 HE OR SHE MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICE. THE OFFICE WILL GIVE THE STUDENT A “LATE SLIP” WHICH THE STUDENT WILL PRESENT TO HIS/HER TEACHER.  ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE LATE TO SCHOOL IN EXCESS OF 10 TIMES WILL RECEIVE A LUNCH DETENTION.

IF A STUDENT NEEDS TO LEAVE SCHOOL EARLY WHILE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION; HE OR SHE MUST BRING A NOTE INTO SCHOOL. THE NOTE SHOULD BE BROUGHT DOWN TO THE OFFICE IN THE MORNING AND THE STUDENT WILL BE GIVEN AN EARLY DISMISSAL PASS TO GIVE TO HIS/HER TEACHER. THE STUDENT WILL THEN BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE CLASS WITHOUT INTERRUPTION

NO CELL PHONES OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE ALLOWED UPON ENTERING THE SCHOOL BUILDING. IF A STUDENT IS CAUGHT OR IT COMES TO OUR ATTENTION THAT A STUDENT IS USING HIS/HER ELECTRONIC DEVICE OR CELL PHONE(INCLUDING TEXT MESSAGING, OR IF THE PHONE RINGS…. CONSEQUENCES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

FIRST OFFENSE: THE CELL PHONE OR ELECTRONIC DEVICE WILL BE TAKEN AWAY AND THE STUDENT’S PARENT WILL HAVE TO PICK UP THE DEVICE AFTER SCHOOL. SECOND OFFENSE: THE PARENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO PICK UP THE CELL PHONE OR ELECTRONIC DEVICE AFTER 24 HOURS. THIRD AND SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE: THE STUDENT WILL HAVE TO PAY A 25$ FINE.

BULLYING SHALL NOT EXIST Harassing or bullying in any form is simply not acceptable. Please refer to the handbook for consequences and remedial measures. This includes: texting- facebooking or any other electronic means of communication.
