Fast And Furious: The fast and furious films are known for many things. The obvious main thing is the film’s love for cars, every single film has a different story line that involves various stunning cars. The word ‘family’ is highly emphasised and the characters seem to share a lot of love towards each other. In almost every film the crew is planning to pull off a job or some sort of heist. The leader or alpha male is also emphasised and is taken very seriously in these films by making sure has most of control over the group and makes the core and important decisions. These conventions make the action genre very clear. The latest Fast and Furious film was released on April 1 st The film was directed by James Wan; the very successful director previously directed many horror films such as: Saw, Insidious 1&2 and The Conjuring. This brings a rather out of context audience and pairs them in with the already highly stablished fast and furious lovers audience. The film stars: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker (who is one of the main characters and still attracts audiences and makes profit even after his tragic death) and lastly Dwayne Johnson. The fast paced action will attract a younger audience or people who are looking for a quick thrill. In the trailer the short clips of the city and the family meals emphasise teamwork and family attributes the film seems to carry. I believe the film is aimed at an male age of audience of Jason Statham brings a similar audience as he has starred in many action faced paced films. Iggy Azalea brings a female audience with her brief appearance and song “Go Hard or Go Home”. The film had a large budget at $190 million, a huge Box Office was made at $1.515 billion. The film earned $43 million from 8,407 screens.

The very simple poster, covered In a pale sepia colour, has the cast facing in the same direction in a row looking towards the same point with a serious facial expressions to pay tribute towards Paul Walkers death. The films tagline in this case is “vengeance hits home” which has a in-depth meaning throughout the movie due to the fact the main antagonist in this release is the brother of a previous defeated one. The background of the poster is meant to represent the characters home town Los Angeles. In this case the release date of the movie is planted so that it is extremely obvious when the movie comes out and is designed in the same font as the main name which boosts its importance when people are reading through. About 75% of the background is just pure bright sky and clouds which may or may not symbolise some sort of heavenly accruing; if so then this is to commemorate Paul Walkers death. The almost fully transparent car in the background represents the films love for cars. Poster Analysis

Trailer Analysis Trailer Starts of with the green rating notice which notifies the viewer that the movie has been officially rated. It then follows onto showing a blacked out muscle car cursing throughout the long widely roads of what it seems like America and shows a shot of two of few main protagonists vin diesel and Michelle Rodriguez.

The poster of this particular release in the fast and furious series for a change has a equal amount of representation in the importance of both male and female characters in the way they are positioned relative to each other on screen. All actors are told to face in the same direction aligned in a row, no one is in front of each other which proves their equal. All characters are placed quite close to each other which makes it seem like the are part of a family. Although so far the cast may seem to be represented to be comparable, but the are a few sneaky details which just make it so that their not so balanced thank you thought. For example both women are ‘smaller than the men and the last woman actor on the right has a completely different posture. Character Representation
