Background Michael Jordan is a former American basketball player who led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships and won the Most Valuable Player Award five times. He was Born February 17, 1963 (age 53 years). He went to college at North Carolina University.

Background Continued He is known as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He is also a Olympic athlete, businessman, and actor. He was known at a young age for being over- competitive, wanting to win every game he played.

Fun Facts He was undefeated in the NBA finals. He did not make his high school varsity team. He is one of, if not the most iconic basketball figure. He had a famous “Flue Game” where he played with a bad cold and led his team to victory scoring 38 points. He could make a free-throw with his eyes closed.

The Legacy Michael had a famous “Air Jordan” dunk which became a well known logo. This brought rise to the Air Jordan which is a brand of shoes and athletic clothing designed, owned, and produced by Michael Jordan.

Business Michael corporate partners are Nike, Gatorade, Hanes, Upper Deck, 2K Sports, Presbyterian Healthcare and Five Star Fragrances. He is the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. His Air Jordan brand became well known and the logo appears on many clothing and is still frequently seen today.

How Michael Jordan Impacted America. Michael Jordan became an icon in basketball and boosted the economy through revenue coming from his merchandise, therefore he was an example of the American dream making him an idol across America while reviving the great sport of basketball.

He Is Still Seen in Culture Today People still compare modern day players to him illustrating the yearning to live up to the high expectation he set. He set the bar for basketball greatness. He brought excitement to the game of basketball. He revolutionized basketball T shirts, shorts, shoes and even socks. He also endorses video games and magazines by being on the cover, and is in many commercials. Kids see him as an idol and want to be just like him. His name is associated with greatness and is seen throughout society to this day. He himself became an American brand.

Michael Jordan and his Air Jordan logo gave rise to a new style of fashion seen in society to this day. Everybody wanted this apparel since he was an icon in the sport that he made popular due to his superb athleticism and the style he played with.

Reviving the NBA Before Michael Jordan the NBA was very popular. He brought excitement and entertainment to the organization making it popular and globalizing the sport. This excitement he brought continues to this day, and players thrive to be like him. He therefore made a sport popular and showed what excellence and excitement was.

Rags to Riches Michael Jordan fought the odds and made it to the NBA despite having a rough childhood. He was not athletic at a young age, but worked towards his goal of being in the NBA. By achieving his goal and becoming the best at what he did, it inspired others to follow in his footsteps.
