Where to start… Preparation BEGINS at home. What your child should be bringing home Study SKILLS Eating right during testing Getting plenty of rest during testing

How can you help your child study OTHER than using the book?!?!?!? TALK to them about what they are learning. TALK to them about what they are learning. Have your child “teach” you. Talk with your child… Ask them what they reviewed today. Ask them what NEW material they discussed today. Ask them about concepts that still confuse them. Clarify if you feel comfortable…Ask US, using the agenda, if you do not.

Have your child teach you…  Becoming the teacher allows your child to review and study in a FUN way.  Make sure that the material they are teaching you is RIGHT! Have the book out and double check the facts they tell you!  Have them PROVE their explanation.

Interactive Notebooks and Binders… Notes given using the Interactive Notebook and Binder are OFTEN NOT in the textbook. Make sure the child is reviewing the information in these NIGHTLY. Make CONNECTIONS with your child about classroom discussions they have participated in and the material you are reviewing with them.
