Teacher Philosophy  Belief in the growth mindset:  Purposeful engagement and dedicated effort allows each person to reach their potential.  Belief in the importance of student self-advocacy  Belief in learning from mistakes

Key Skills for Success ** Time Management --Planning, prioritizing, and scheduling daily tasks ** Organization --cultivate the habit of filing handouts in the appropriate section --using the binder reminder to keep track of daily homework and long term assignments --developing a routine at home to remember & pack all things needed for next day’s class **Timeliness --task completion and submitting work --seeking assistance

What should a student bring to Mrs. Subramanian’s class everyday? Binder Reminder – to record HW, Quiz or Test dates etc Language Arts notebook Novel (if currently reading a literature novel) All handouts in the current quarter-- whether they are due next day or few days later or a month later Student’s personal collection of writing tools (pencils, red pens, erasers etc) Binder paper Please know that the items mentioned in the materials list sent home is to be considered as a suggestion only, and is not mandatory. The classroom also has supplies that is available to students. We greatly appreciate donations of any of these supplies!
