SYMPTOMS Blisterlike bumps (2-20 days after exposure) Enlarged lymph nodes Fever Headaches Fatigue  Symptoms do not need to be present in order to contract herpes  Although sores disappear the virus remains in the body

DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT A tissue culture of an active blister is used to diagnose HSV II There is no cure A medication called, Acyclovir helps with pain and healing of blisters Herpes is linked to cervical cancer cells
