4 Food(continued) Meat was mostly cooked over open fire Origin of Barbecuing Never wasted ANYTHING Bear fat used for frying fish, skin boots, tinder for fires Bear skins used for used as clothing and floor covering, and claws used for jewelry

5 Housings/ Dwellings Built villages on high banks or rivers Built from materials at hand(wood, sticks, mud, etc.) Homes were any shape Outside covered with mud to keep rain and cold out Furnishings included: Woven mats Pottery and baskets Benches for sleeping

7 Religion, Historical facts Believed that many gods and spirits affected everyday actions Cleansed with water or smoke Afterlife Warriors and faithful women were awarded Cowards and thieves were punished
