2 Declarative A declarative sentence simply makes a statement or expresses an opinion. In other words, it makes a declaration. This kind of sentence ends with a period. Example We get lots of snow in the winter. .

3 Example Imperative Clean your room .
An imperative sentence gives a command or makes a request .It usually ends with a period but can, under certain circumstances, end with an exclamation point. Example Clean your room .

4 Example Exclamatory I won a million dollars!
An exclamatory sentence is a sentence that expresses great emotion such as excitement, surprise, happiness and anger, and ends with an exclamation point. Example I won a million dollars!

5 Example Interrogative What time do you get up in the morning ?
An interrogative sentence asks a question. This type of sentences often begins with, who, what, where, when, why, how, or do, and it ends with a question mark. Example What time do you get up in the morning ?

6 Example Simple Apples are red.
A simple sentence has the most basic elements that make it a sentence: a subject, a verb, and a complete thought. Example Apples are red.

7 Compound A compound sentence refers to a sentence made up of two independent clauses(or complete sentences) connected to one another with a coordinating conjunction. Coordinating conjunctions are easy to remember if you think of the words “FAN BOYS”. For And Nor But Or Yet So

8 Complex A complex sentence is made up of an independent clause and one or more dependent clauses connected to it. A dependent clause is similar to an independent clause, or complete sentence, but it lacks one of the elements that would make it a complete sentence. Example While he waited at the train station, Joe realized that the train was late.

9 Compound Complex A compound-complex sentence is made from two independent clauses and one or more dependent clauses.

10 Examples Fragment Because his car was in the shop(What did he do?)
Incomplete or unfinished part of a sentence that never finishes the thought or idea of the sentence Examples Because his car was in the shop(What did he do?)

11 Example Subject Dog is the subject The dog chased the ball
One of the main parts of a sentence Usually the subject is a noun that comes in the beginning of a sentence Example Dog is the subject The dog chased the ball
