10 You’re In The Driver’s Seat …and YOU are more likely to be hurt than work zone crews  Stay alert  Dedicate your full attention to the roadway  Pay close attention  Signs and work zone flaggers save lives  Turn on your headlights  Workers and other motorists must see you  Don’t tailgate or speed  Note the posted speeds in and around the work zones.  Merge as soon as possible  Move to the appropriate lane at first notice of an approaching work zone

11  Don’t change lanes  Minimize distractions  Avoid changing radio stations or using cell phones while driving  Be patient and remain calm  Work zone delays are usually minor Give ‘em a Brake! The workers you see in orange and yellow vests are real people with families to go home to. Do your part in keeping them safe.
