10 Supplies / Your supplies are your responsibility. Please keep all crayons, markers, colored pencils, and glue sticks in your supply kit. / All folders, journals, and extra paper should be kept in your desk. / All textbooks should be kept in your cubby. / The class supplies we will share are scissors, geometry templates, rulers, tape measures, and compasses. It is important that you treat these supplies with respect and return them to their proper place. / Your supplies are your responsibility. 11 Read Aloud / After lunch, you should get any needed supplies and sit at your desk. / I will read aloud to you for 20-25 minutes. / This is a silent time, but you may draw quietly at your own desk. / No one should get out of their seat while I am reading. / This is my favorite time of day! 12 End of the Day Procedure End of the Day Procedure / When you hear the bell, it’s your cue to begin the procedure for the end of our day. / Start doing these things: / Make sure you have your homework and materials in your back pack. / Clean the classroom. 15 Sharpening Pencils / You may sharpen your pencils anytime during the day except if a teacher is giving instructions or is teaching. / You may use a “silent sharpener” in the room or the sharpeners in the hallway. 16 Classroom Behavior / I know that it is going to be a great year and I want to have ways to reward you for following our two class rules: / 1. Respect everyone’s right to learn. / 2. Treat others the way you want to be treated. / As a class- I can reward you with marbles. Our goal is to fill up the marble jar and have a party. / Things I might give you marbles for: / The majority of the class is ready to learn. / We get a compliment in the hallway. / Everyone brings back homework or a note on time. / I know that it is going to be a great year and I want to have ways to reward you for following our two class rules: / 1. 18 / If you are having a hard time remembering our class expectations, you will earn a R.A.T.S. check. / R.A.T.S. stands for “Responsible and Trustworthy Students.” / One RATS check= Verbal Warning / 2 RATS checks= Personal Observation Sheet (P.O.S.) completed at a convenient time usually during recess. This has to be signed and returned the next day or some of recess will be missed. / 3 RATS checks= Call home and miss some of recess

20 Class Jobs / Each day, I will assign 7 classroom jobs: secretary, lunch basket carrier, line leader, Thursday folder filler, cleaning monitor, recycle bin monitor, and white board cleaner. / It is your responsibility to do your job conscientiously and well. 21 Recycling / To help keep our planet clean, we will recycle in our classroom. Paper should always be put in the recycle bin, and never thrown in the trash.
