1 Unit 1 – Improving Productivity Instructions ~ 100 words per box

2 1.1Why did you use a computer? What other systems / resources could you have used? I could have used pen and paper to make a poster because this would have took so long because if it goes wrong then you will have to do all over again also it would have been a waste of my time. I could have also have used is by doing a assemblies and also a PowerPoint in the background and then the parents could read and hear what is happening and understand it would be quick and easy. I used a computer because you could take your time to do it you are not rushing it, research could help you so you understand what something is, coping it could be easier because it helps you but then again if you don’t understand a word on there, also it is quick and easy because you can type faster and you could use the internet to copy pictures.

3 1.2What skills did you need to learn in order to use PowerPoint? The skill that I learnt doing this PowerPoint is that it looks professional because you know how to hyperlink some of the work like links to the internet if you are doing things for the little ones, but the only thing is that when you copy something it comes up with a hyperlink and you could remove the hyperlink. The other skill I have learnt is that how I could make the PowerPoint interesting because If I wanted to change the power point's design I could because all I have to is by change how it is by choosing the colours and also if you didn’t like the colours you could change it and it looks more professional.

4 1.2What resources did you need to make the presentation successful? The resources to make your presentation successful you could use the internet so you could get information and also if you wanted to you could also get images also if you didn’t want to use the internet. You could use the shared area, so you could also get your videos and more images if you didn’t want to get some from the internet. To also make this presentation you could use your keyboard to do information. It would also help if you had a computer because you wouldn’t be able to do your presentation so then you would have to do it on paper and pen but then it would take you longer and then it would look untidy.

5 1.4What factors might have affected how well you completed the presentation? (e.g. time / attendance / knowledge of software) Not finishing it and you teacher tells you to do it at home but then you couldn’t get it at home so then the teacher might have a detention what they could do is by sending it by emails so that they could excess it at home easier. Also people might also not get you work done in class is maybe because people around you might just talk to you and the you couldn’t get your work done but then your teacher could send it through email. The other thing that could be why you are not working in lessons an getting your work done is because you are not listening to your teacher and your instructions.

6 1.6Why did you use PowerPoint to make your presentation? What other software was available? Why did you choose not to use them? Instead of using PowerPoint I could have used word for a letter then, if I didn’t want to use PowerPoint or word instead if you wanted to you could use publisher for a poster and leaflet, or you have to if you don’t want to use any of them you could use a paper and pen but then it would take longer and time to do because if you did it wrong once you would have to start again and then it would take time to make it neat and tidy. But some of these things it could be faster for you to use.

7 1.7Were there any legal constraints or local constraints that changed the way you created your presentation? (e.g. copyright, file sizes, AUP) Copyright is when you can’t use it without permission e.g like pictures but in my presentation I used pictures from the shared files because you won’t have the hassle of using their permission, it affected my presentation because some of my pictures are from Rshared put some of them are rubbish and you could use pictures from the internet. A file size is the measure of space a file takes on a storage medium such as a computer hard drive and sometimes you could

8 2.2Which tools within PowerPoint made it appropriate for your presentation? The tools that made my PowerPoint appropriate because the animations you could if you wanted to you could make the writing appear with an effect and also it would make your work look nice, and you could also do loads of them on different things like your pictures if you wanted to make it appear in different way. The other way you could make the PowerPoint appropriate is by maybe if you wanted to you could change the design on my slides e.g. like change how they look and the outline of them all, maybe if you didn’t like the colour it was you could also change how the colour looks.

9 2.4What improvements do you think you could do to your presentation? The improvements I could do to my presentation is maybe but more images in more than information and then do some more videos to show them what is around the school. I could also add a graph on how much people go to school, maybe if you wanted to I could have added more videos and images so it looks so much more interesting. I could have took photos myself instead of having rubbish images because they were blurry and maybe do less information. Do more animation on each slide to make it more interesting, also I could on some of my slides I could add more information.

10 3.2What improvements do you think you could have done to improve your work rate? (keyboard shortcuts, file names & locations, backups, work after school, templates, planning) If you use the keyboard shortcuts you could make it easier and faster to use. And file names are important because then you know what you called them and you know where they are and easier to find and it would save you a lot of time to name is something you know. Backups are useful because if you don’t have enough space in your area if you back it up to somewhere that means you have more space for more things.
