2 1.1Why did you use a computer? What other systems / resources could you have used? I used a computer because I can make the appearance of the work better by adding colour cause it makes the work stand out also changing the fonts to make the title stand out and make it look good. It is quicker because I can add hyperlinks to sites that match with my work also adding videos and sounds. By using a computer I can save my work and come back to it and edit it at anytime I want if I want to add something in or change a mistake. If I were to make a presentation without a computer I would of had to read and find information out of books which would take longer than what it does on the computer which I would have to draw and create pieces of information to make a good presentation without a computer.

3 1.2What skills did you need to learn in order to use PowerPoint? When using PowerPoint skills can be: Saving constantly so I don’t lose any work Using a text frame to enter text to the work Changing the text, font, size and colour to make it stand out Inserting tables made on PowerPoint Adding hyperlinks which take you to websites or work that is connected to it Changing a picture or the outline of it Putting on a master slide and learning how to use it Using animations and creating and adding different ones Adding transitions so that you can make the slides change in different ways Being able to take the mouse click off so the hyper links work properly

4 1.2What resources did you need to make the presentation successful? I needed a presentation package called PowerPoint in order to create my slide show about the college. PowerPoint will let me: Add text and change it to make it stand out in the presentation Pictures, videos,sound and animations to make the presentation interesting and interactive Slides with different topics on and hyperlinks link with the slides. The internet in order to collect pictures, moving animations to make the presentation interesting and to make it stand out. The shared area for the college where I can collect photos, sounds, animations and more. A graphics package like fireworks so I could edit my pictures to take out unnecessary things.

5 1.4What factors might have affected how well you completed the presentation? (e.g. time / attendance / knowledge of software) My Preparations: I start Research before I begin the work so I know what to put in my work and to make it look good Exams that could move me away from my work what could affect my focus on the lessons. Not knowing what resources I want to use or can decide what to choose. I could lose concentration to mess around so I would not get the work completed in time or to go to the toilet which waste time. I could plan and prepare my work before I start it so I know what I am doing, so I could set it in an order which I could put a timetable in it so I can work on different bits at different times as well as having a break.

6 1.6Why did you use PowerPoint to make your presentation? What other software was available? Why did you choose not to use them? I used PowerPoint because I can access more Varity of things which allows me to make my work look more interesting for example: Videos Animations Different fonts images My other choice was Microsoft Word which allows me less access to things this is because Microsoft word is for writing on mainly with a few adjustments. Word and publisher are the same they are not very active. The reason I used PowerPoint because I know what to do and use on it and I would have to use it once and not use any money and I can publish this on the website so it goes public.

7 2.2Which tools within PowerPoint made it appropriate for your presentation? Master slide you can edit a layout and then it shows onto the actual PowerPoint for every slide Hyperlinks helps with getting to different slides in any order you wish so you don’t have to read what you don’t want to. Text, text boxes are good for making a presentation because you can place them where you want to so then you can add information to make the work look colourful and creative. I could add animations to make it look good and creative. Its easy to navigate on my PowerPoint because it is organised. Because of the presentation uses slides it gives me an advantage to dedicating a certain subject to one slide.

8 1.7Were there any legal constraints or local constraints that changed the way you created your presentation? (e.g. copyright, file sizes, AUP) If I was on the internet and researching and I copy work off websites an pictures this is copyright which is illegal so if someone found out I would have to ask or pay otherwise this go cause that you go to prison. If you have large videos or images or animations you might have difficulty loading them so you might have to make them smaller and you might lose quality. Data protection act is that you cant be allowed to identify a person or student otherwise this is breaking the data protection act. If you haven’t got the proper file type this will prevent you from uploading this and could lead to all you work being deleted.

9 2.4What improvements do you think you could do to your presentation? With my presentation I could add more animation like a appropriate animation for example cartoons, I could change the colour of my font to make it look more creative also I would add hyperlinks to make my presentation bigger and make it open to other websites. I could make all my titles the same size and put better pictures in a better quality in my presentation. I need to get pictures of people or staff I don’t have to make sure my PowerPoint makes sense. I could add different coloured backgrounds on or change the colours to make it standout. I would add more information and better quality of it to make it more interesting.

10 3.2What improvements do you think you could have done to improve your work rate? (keyboard shortcuts, file names & locations, backups, work after school, templates, planning) Preparation- I could of planned my work before I start it so I know what to put on it and what information to put on, designing I could of planned and created my design of which it will look like when I'm finished whit my work, I could have had a timescale to say how long I am going to spend on my design to show how long I spent making my presentation. I would have to try and manage my distractions so I don’t take as long to make my work like going to the toilet, messing around or working on something else instead of the work I'm meant to be doing, being late to lesson. collecting resources like photos, sounds, animations that I am going to put in my presentation but this cause me to lose time which I could of prevent this by planning before I started. If your rushing to get somewhere and you log off and don’t save the work and you lose all the work that you did this why you would save your work on a memory stick so that you don’t lose any work.
