2 Registration Guide Review Registration Process 1. Registration Directions – presented in class and (online) 11th Grade in American Lit and AP Lan 10th Grade in US History and AP Euro 9th Grade in LA classes 2. Review your Academic Pathways, Departmental Pathways, and Four Year Planning (online) 3. Grade Level Registration (distributed by counselor and online) 4. Auburn School District Course Catalog (online) 5. You will select the class and the period that you want to take. We would love to guarantee that this will be your exact schedule, however, because this is our first time doing computer arena scheduling there may be adjustments that need to be made.

Registration – Grade 11–April 1, Grade 10–April 15, Grade 9- April 22, Grade 8- April 29 Skyward will open from 4-9pm on open registration days by grade level. Counselors will visits classrooms to support students who were not able to enter their class schedule 2 days after open registration. STEP 2 Registration Planning – See schedule by grade level (talk with your parents about planning your class schedule at AMHS) STEP 1 Counselor Visit to Classrooms Schools – March 25, April 1, April 15 List of Courses ∙ Departmental Pathways ∙ 4 Year Planning Guide ∙ Course selection sheet Vernie’s Slide CLASS OF 2017: MARCH 5TH (CKMS), 6TH (SMS), & 7TH (TFMS) Skyward will open the night before, each school’s date from 5-8pm so that parents can be involved in the course selection process. Our classroom visits, on the listed dates will be to capture students who were not able enter their course requests. .

Registration Guide Graduation Requirements 4 years Language Arts 2.5 years Social Studies 3 years Math 2 years PE/Health 2 years Science (1 Lab, 1 Lab or Non-Lab) 1 year Occupational (CTE) 1 year Performing or Visual Arts 7 credits Electives You will also need to pass: the HSPE in reading and writing the Algebra and/or Geometry End of Course exam (EOC) the Biology End of Course exam (EOC) complete and present your culminating portfolio during senior year

The Course Catalog is on our website. Use this resource to help fill out your registration form. Look up classes your are interested in. Is it open to your grade level? Are there prerequisites? For four year college entrance requirements, look on pages 22 & 23 If you think you may participate in college athletics at the Division I or II level, NCAA requirements are listed on the website.

Registration Guide Registration Reminders Please consider that you are choosing for the entire year. Think carefully about your choices and write down on your registration form clearly. Include course codes. Have alternate plans when preparing for registration. Class changes cannot always be made and year-long class commitments must be fulfilled!

11 Parent/Guardians and Students have separate Login ID’s and Passwords
Parent/Guardians and Students have separate Login ID’s and Passwords. For the registration process, students MUST use their Login ID and Password. If your student needs their Login ID and Password, please contact your current school’s counseling center or registrar’s office and they will direct you.

12 1 2 Click on the drop down menu and select “AUBURN MOUNTAINVIEW H.S. ”

13 3 On the Selected Search Option click on the By Course Description

14 4 Scroll through/Search and Add the course(s) and period you would like to register for and click on the Option “Add”

15 Continue to select classes until you reach 6 credits
Continue to select classes until you reach 6 credits. Click on the “Selected Classes” tab to see your schedule by Period. If you are involved in Jazz Band, Marching Band, AP Computer Science [zero period] select that class, you would then have 7 credits, 6.25 for Marching Band. 5

16 6 Once you have reached 6 credits (7 credits Jazz Band, Marching Band, AP Computer Science[zero period]), click on the “Submit Classes” tab then select the “Submit Schedule” button and your selection will be saved. Select the “Logout” button when you are done.

24 Registration Guide Remember your window of time for selecting classes 4:00pm to 9:00pm It is important to have your planning sheet with you when you are registering – you MUST also have YOUR login and password Mrs. Herren will be in the library from 4 to 8 pm on April 1st, April 15th and April 22nd for the students that do not have access to a computer during that time.

25 Registration Guide If you are credit deficient you must register for summer school. Verify that you have all requirements that are required by the college or university you hope to attend. Consider AP classes to prepare for college and beyond. IF you forget or are unable to register during your specific time you will have another opportunity to register on the following Wednesday of that week during the school day. (computer labs, library, etc)
