A Peek At The Week
-In reading we are continuing to direct instruction at students’ reading levels.
-In Math students are learning to combine various coin amounts to add together how much money they have in all. You can work on coin recognition and value at home as some students are still struggling to identify the nickel and dime correctly.
-During writing time this week we will be writing and creating special gifts for our Moms!
-Our Core Knowledge time will continue on our unit of Mexico. This week students learn some Spanish, learn of National Holidays in Mexico, and as a culminating activity we will have a fiesta on Friday
Homework Ideas
-Reading homework might slow down as students transition into second grade groups, but please still read with your child every night!
Looking Ahead
-May 9th First Grade Music Program at 6:00pm
-May 12th Olive Garden Lunch
-May 24th Last day of school for students
-May 24th PBIS Assembly at 3:00
Extra News
We will be celebrating June and July birthdays in May. If your child has a birthday in those months you are more than welcome to send in birthday treats on your May snack day. Thank you
