1. A Peek At The Week
-In reading we are continuing to switch to our leveled reading groups. Students should be bringing home daily reading homework. Look for the yellow RMSE page!
-During math we will continue practice with number bonds and identifying the parts and whole. This week we will focus on counting on instead of counting all to find the whole. Students will also identify if number sentences have a missing part or a missing whole.
-Writing time will be used on writing a story on something that we can do all by ourselves. Students will work hard to create a 4 Star story! Which includes neat handwriting, finger spaces, capitals, periods, and a neat illustration.
-During our Core Knowledge time we will begin our unit on Animals and Habitats. This week students will learn what a habitat is, and also about the Arctic, Desert, and Savannah habitats.
Homework Ideas
-Please take time to read with your child every night for minutes.
-Continue work on the number bond sprints that come home each day. If kiddos have bonds circled they can fix it and bring it back the next day!

Looking Ahead
-MSA meeting is Tuesday, September in the Learning Lab (Library).
-Parent-teacher conferences are Monday, September 19th 12-8pm and Thursday, September 22nd 4-8pm
- Picture Day is October 6th.
-Field Day is scheduled for Friday, October 7th.
Extra News
-Fall is coming! The mornings are starting to get chilly so remember to send your kiddo to school with a light jacket to help stay warm during morning recess before school starts!
-If you are able to donate any hand sanitizer or Clorox Wipes they would be greatly appreciated. There is a lot of sharing in our room and unfortunately that means sharing germs too.

Reminders
-Please get in the routine of taking papers out of the folders every night and returning the folder everyday. It helps SO much with getting papers neatly back and forth!
